چکیده

Interconnection networks form an important area which has received much attention, both in theoretical research and in practice. From theoretical point of view, an interconnection network can be modelled by a graph, where the vertices of the graph represent the nodes of the network and the edges of the graph represent connections between the nodes in the network. Fault tolerance is an important performance feature when designing a network, and the connectivity of the underlying graph is one of the measures of fault tolerance for a network. A graph is connected if there is a path between any two vertices of G. We say that G is t-connected if the deletion of at least t vertices of G is required to disconnect the graph. A graph with minimum degree δ is maximally connected if it is δ-connected. A graph is superconnected if its only minimum disconnecting sets are those induced by the neighbors of a vertex; a graph is said to be tightly superconnected if (i) any minimum disconnecting set is the set of neighbors of a single vertex; and (ii) the deletion of a minimum disconnecting set results in a graph with two components (one of which has only one vertex, another component is a connected graph). A (δ; g)− cage is a δ-regular graph with girth g and with the least possible number of vertices. In this paper we consider the problem of whether or not (4; g)-cages for g ≥ 5 are tightly superconnected. We present some partial results and the remaining open problems.

On superconnectivity of (4, g)-cages with even girth

A (k, g)-cage is a k-regular graph with girth g that has the fewest number of vertices. It has been conjectured [Fu, Huang, and Rodger, Connectivity of cages, J. Graph Theory 24 (1997), 187-191] that all (k, g)-cages are k-connected for k ≥ 3. A connected graph G is said to be superconnected if every minimum cut-set S is the neighborhood of a vertex of minimum degree. Moreover, if G − S has pre...

Edge-superconnectivity of semiregular cages with odd girth

A graph is said to be edge-superconnected if each minimum edge-cut consists of all the edges incident with some vertex of minimum degree. A graph G is said to be a {d, d + 1}semiregular graph if all its vertices have degree either d or d+1. A smallest {d, d+1}-semiregular graph G with girth g is said to be a ({d, d+1}; g)-cage. We show that every ({d, d+1}; g)-cage with odd girth g is edge-supe...

Recognition by prime graph of the almost simple group PGL(2, 25)

Throughout this paper, every groups are finite. The prime graph of a group $G$ is denoted by $Gamma(G)$. Also $G$ is called recognizable by prime graph if for every finite group $H$ with $Gamma(H) = Gamma(G)$, we conclude that $Gcong H$. Until now, it is proved that if $k$ is an odd number and $p$ is an odd prime number, then $PGL(2,p^k)$ is recognizable by prime graph. So if $k$ is even, the r...

Superconnectivity of regular graphs with small diameter

A graph is superconnected, for short super-κ, if all minimum vertex-cuts consist of the vertices adjacent with one vertex. In this paper we prove for any r-regular graph of diameter D and odd girth g that if D ≤ g − 2, then the graph is super-κ when g ≥ 5 and a complete graph otherwise.

New improvements on connectivity of cages

A (δ, g)-cage is a δ-regular graph with girth g and with the least possible number of vertices. In this paper, we show that all (δ, g)-cages with odd girth g ≥ 9 are r-connected, where (r − 1) ≤ δ + √ δ − 2 < r and all (δ, g)-cages with even girth g ≥ 10 are r-connected, where r is the largest integer satisfying r(r−1) 2 4 + 1 + 2r(r − 1) ≤ δ. Those results support a conjecture of Fu, Huang and...
